As part of our comittment to bringing new products to the turf market, PGG Wrightson Turf continually trial new seed germplasm from New Zealand and overseas to assess their suitability to our environment. Some of the current trials underway include one of the most comprehensive fine fescue trials ever undertaken in Australasia. Over 30 new fescue lines from across the globe are being assessed in Christchurch and Auckland, New Zealand and Ballarat, Australia.
PGG Wrightson Turf has many Regional Cultivar Performance Trials around New Zealand; both at local facilities, such as golf courses and stadiums, and at research facilities. As Australasia has such a diverse climate, these trials are designed to give customers an insight into what cultivar options are best suited to their environment. Many trials are underway at any given time with the majority of these being conducted at Kimihia Research Centre in Christchurch.
